Maths Calculation Drop In Sessions Parent Views
September & October 2016
102 parents and carers attended the sessions over the 2 days from classes across the school (Y1 – Y6).
100 % of parents found the drop in session useful.
100% of parents would come again to a similar session.
What did you like about the session?
Is there anything we could do to improve future sessions?
Year 1 had a great time at Eureka! where they visited the ‘My Body’ exhibit and pretended to be: doctors, dentists and nurses to help them learn about how their bodies function. They also took part in a workshop about healthy eating, in which they investigated fruits and vegetables.

Everyone had an exciting time this week developing their scientific investigation skills:
As well as all this, the whole school enjoyed watching a performance of a science-themed show called Robin and the Withering Wood in which the children had to help solve the mystery of why all the trees were dying by learning about food chains, the characteristics of living things and photosynthesis.

Year 1 enjoyed visiting Clayton Hall on Tuesday where they dressed up in Victorian-style costumes and learnt about the different jobs that used to be done by children in the: cold store room, kitchen, dining room, wash house and bedroom. They even got the chance to make their own Zoetropes in the afternoon!

The school celebrated the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II with a day of royal-themed activities, including decorating pebbles for a commemorative path to put in the Friendship Gardens.
