Everyone had an exciting time this week developing their scientific investigation skills:
As well as all this, the whole school enjoyed watching a performance of a science-themed show called Robin and the Withering Wood in which the children had to help solve the mystery of why all the trees were dying by learning about food chains, the characteristics of living things and photosynthesis.
Year 3 visited the historical city of Chester today where they: marched around the streets dressed as Roman soldiers, were given a guided tour of the old amphitheatre and visited the Dewa Roman Experience to learn about what daily life was like in the city 2,000 years ago.
KS2 performed a brilliant production of Joseph in the hall this morning in front of a hall full of parents.
You will have received your child's annual school report today (8th July) and we'd like to know what you thought. Please let us know by clicking here.
A reminder that you are able to discuss the report with the class teacher at a parent drop in on Wednesday 13th July between 3.15 and 4.15pm.
Congratulations to all the finalists for competing in today's final. They were all extremely brave and competed in front of the whole school, teachers and parents. Each child had 90 seconds to answer as many mental maths questions as possible. The scores were very close with our winner scoring 25. Well done to all and thank you to the friends and family that came along and supported the event.
Year 3 had a fantastic time visiting the Danelaw Viking Village today where they became new settlers wearing period costume and experienced first-hand the daily life of a Viking family. In the village, they learnt new skills and all about the hard work and dangers that were part of daily life. During the day, they:
Year 3 have enjoyed learning how to use text boxes in Pages create documents about their Vikings history topic.
The choir from St Joseph's primary school visited Parkfield this afternoon to sing with our choir.
Year 3 enjoyed using the Drawing Pad app this afternoon to paint and label their own picture of a Viking longship. Can you spot how they have layered elements so it looks more realistic?
S-Club enjoyed going to Lancaster Farm this afternoon where they had the chance to: stroke, hold and feed some of the animals.
