Year 1 had a great time at Eureka! where they visited the ‘My Body’ exhibit and pretended to be: doctors, dentists and nurses to help them learn about how their bodies function. They also took part in a workshop about healthy eating, in which they investigated fruits and vegetables.
Everyone had an exciting time this week developing their scientific investigation skills:
As well as all this, the whole school enjoyed watching a performance of a science-themed show called Robin and the Withering Wood in which the children had to help solve the mystery of why all the trees were dying by learning about food chains, the characteristics of living things and photosynthesis.
You will have received your child's annual school report today (8th July) and we'd like to know what you thought. Please let us know by clicking here.
A reminder that you are able to discuss the report with the class teacher at a parent drop in on Wednesday 13th July between 3.15 and 4.15pm.
KS1 enjoyed learning about the different parts of a web browser this afternoon and how to search for images sensibly and effectively using a search engine.
Year 1 enjoyed visiting Clayton Hall on Tuesday where they dressed up in Victorian-style costumes and learnt about the different jobs that used to be done by children in the: cold store room, kitchen, dining room, wash house and bedroom. They even got the chance to make their own Zoetropes in the afternoon!
