Maths is taught again in blocks of 1, 2 or 3 weeks. The domains (units of work) are as follows:
- Unit A: Number and Place Value
- Unit B: Fractions
- Unit C: Measurement
- Unit D: Statistics
- Unit E: Geometry
- Unit F: Ratio and Proportion
- Unit G: Algebra
- Continually taught: Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Division.
Teachers are free to teach the units in any particular order, depending on the needs of their class. At Parkfield we teach Unit D in a cross-curricular approach when we teach Science. We feel that the investigative work during Science lessons provides pupils with an ideal opportunity to handle real life data.
